Scrapbooking, etc.

Not that I really need to be writing a post about this..but I am actually really excited.  I have always been kind-of against scrapbooking..Way too overwhelming, and I just don't have talent, patience, money, etc for something for someone so not crafty like me.  So, Austin finally talked me into doing Cooper a scrapbook digitally instead of the normal way.  His mom has made like 15 scrapbooks EACH for all of her 6 kids, so he was really pushing for it.  Very grudgingly I began, and quite surprisingly I have really enjoyed it.  It has been lots of fun, a little overwhelming, but not near as much as I thought, and I counted and have over 100 pages now.  I know that is tons and tons of pictures, but I love to look back and I really don't regret having them...It's been a wonderful way to journal too.  It's easy to write out a paragraph digitally than to hand-write it.  So once this year is over I get to print it out.  It's not just for Cooper either, it's a family one...I'm not THAT ambitious to do lots for each child...but happy I did it.  Don't really know why I wanted to write about that, maybe because it's something I really really didn't want to do, but once I tried it I'm really happy for the effort that I've put into it...even if I am vain and love to look at pictures of ourselves...that's probably it...Oh well.  I'm really excited to print it when I get all caught up soon.

Anyway, the end.  Do any of you print off your blog, or do scrapbooking/digital scrapbooking?

Love, Krissi

First Haircut

Hey There.

It was time to Chop off Coopers Wings so his hair could grow out evenly.  Here he is.  Austin's mom is pro, been cutting hair for years (which is great because now marrying into this family I get my hair done for free, because she is THAT awesome).  Cooper looks way too grown-up, and I can't wait for his curls to grow back, but it was very much needed.  Merry Christmas ya'll!

Leaves

I went a little overboard on leaf pictures this year, but I didn’t realize how much fun leaves were till I had a little kid to play in them. Growing up we never had trees that allowed us to have huge leaf piles, so now that our house, and grandma’s house has them I let Cooper play in them as much as possible. It brings out my inner child :) He seems to like it too. Here are a few pics we took on his 1st Birthday.

May the Force Be With You

So, for Halloween, we'd been planning for so long in advance to be the Star Wars crew, and even though Cooper looked like a green headed sheep instead of Yoda, it was lots of fun!! We went to a really fun Halloween party that Vanessa Stubbs planned, and I will post a picture of Laurisa in her totally cool Astronaut suit too, :) :) Then on actual Halloween, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and ate delicious butternut soup that grandma made, and like 10 breadsticks (yes, 10 breadsticks, no wonder I can't lose this tire around my waist), and played Halloween Scattergories. It was a fun fun holiday!!

May the Force Be With You All

Laurisa's Amazing Astronaut suit at the party.

Other pics will come soon, can't find my camera that has my cute nephews as super heroes. Bye now!

Coop's Birthday Cake Video

Here's a short little video of Cooper eating, well not really eating, but playing in his birthday cake.  Sure love this little guy.

HIking to Waterfall

Just some fun little things in October...

Gardner Village and Petting Zoo

Basically, I just love Kelly Stubler Halvorsen. She is one my best friends and we took our kids to the zoo. Plus she gave me tips on how to save some mula, which is always a good thing. I felt like it was old times, the old times that we sit in front of the mirror and comb our hair and it would stay in place because of the grease, clear back in 7th grade. I will forever just love that girl!!  We are excited the boys are starting to interact with each other, however we have come to the conclusion that Cole has grown a wee bit more stocky than lil Coop.  Oh yeah, and if you want to see the actual video highlight of them at the zoo, then click here.

Happy Birthday Dad!!

So, we gave my dad a surprise B-day Party! Woot Woot.  It was fun :)  Thanks to Luz and Eddy for being the mastermind behind it.  For any of you who don't know Luz and Eddy, they are our adopted brother and sister.  They are from Bolivia and lived with us for a couple years about 12 years ago while I was in high school.

SING A SONG

So I'm in a state of wonderment right now, if that is even a word....the other day while walking I was listening to a little Kelly Clarkson (love her!), and I always skipped her slow songs.  This particular day I didn't and when the song "Cry"  (wow, I just learned how to put a link in the blog..wow)  came on, instead of just skipping past it I listened to it. I must have not been walking that fast..ha.  Anyway, as I was listening I thought Man, this would be a super fun song to sing alone in the car, it was awesome, totally powerful, and I instantly wanted to go download a karaoke version of it.  It seemed in my range, if I could just go into my "head voice" for the last insane high part that Kelly effortlessly belts out.  So, the next day I found the karoake version online and just so I wouldn't sing the words on the wrong part, I decided to sing it along with Kelly and the lyrics a couple times.  Choosing a time that I thought my upstairs neighbors would be gone, since our walls are like paper thin, I sat in my bedroom and started belting out...I think if anyone would have heard that version of Cry they seriously would have cried!  It was just one big flat screech fest...The only thing that could save me was that there was a key changer on the karoake site, thank goodness.

So I am having this inner dilemma...My friend is teaching voice lessons and I really want to take from her (if she ends up teaching adults.)  I feel like some times in my life I had an ok voice, the thing I lack most is the confidence just to really sing it out!  All my life I've been in song and dance groups, and when it was time to audition for solos every girl would just immediately belt it out full-heartedly while I would just sing timidly and then on the way home in the car I would practice over and over again belting it out while no-one was listening and could do it just fine.  I feel like I am SOOO LOUD when I do it, and would hurt the people's ears next to me.  Which I believe means two things...one, I am probably singing incorrectly, and two, I've got some lungs, some really powerful ones, so if I could just learn to use them the right way, I could probably have a pretty good voice.  So, do I take voice lessons now and try to really learn how to sing, and really more importantly some confidence, or, just let that part of my life pass by and not worry about it.  It's not like I perform anymore, maybe once every couple years in church or something....So that is my dilemma of the day. Very interesting I know.  But it's something I really wish I could do. Just for a week, a month have some confidence that I actually figured out how to use these lungs and vocal chords and see if I am just fooling myself, or see if maybe I can actually learn how to sing...We'll see I guess!  You're never too old right?? Ha!  That's it for now.  The End.

California Trip - Catching Up

A month ago my dear sister in law Nicole reserved us a week at her beach house in California just north of Newport Beach.  Let's just say.....heaven.  Southern California is DEFINITELY one of the places I could live and be happy with.  The ocean smell, the beautiful waves, the PERFECT 80 degree weather...We had SO MUCH FUN playing in the ocean and really really relaxing.  We only left like 3 times to eat, get food the first night and go to the pier.  It was a real vacation, and hopefully someday we'll get to go back.  Good times were had with the family and all of us loved it.

YW Trip to St. George and Zion

So we took the YW to St. George and Zion.  Basically it was the coolest.  I do have to say it is so fun to be involved with them.  I am secretary and it's such a fun calling.  Our YW really are so much fun.  Here is a little video I threw together after the trip:

Happy Half Birthday

Just in case it's hard to read on the page, plus I need to start talking in 3rd person.

HAPPY 28.5 BIRTHDAY!!

Austin earns best husband of the year award!  He surprised Krissi for a half-birthday party with all of her family and dearest friends.  He told her they were going to the park to take Cooper on the slide.  He was extra excited and acting so funny, still Krissi had no idea what he had planned up his sleeve.  At the park we saw Courtney and Franklin filling up water balloons and she just froze with the most hilarious look on her face.  “What are you doing here?”  She pointed in the other direction and said she was having a party with water balloons and Austin just said, “Oh, Cool.” and took off in the other direction.  It was so funny.  Then we walked up to the pavilion and everyone started singing Happy Birthday to me.  Grandpa BBQ’d and Grandmas brought cake and ice-cream.  Thanks to everyone who made this the best June 25th Krissi has ever had.
P.S. and she got a sweet climbing harness,  wahoooooo!!!

Congrats to Brad-Austin's Best Friend

Austin's best friend got married a couple of months ago.  Brad and Macy.  We thought it would be great to document it.

Also, I did a couple more photo pages from when Cooper was just 2 months old.  This is why I never wanted to start a scrapbook because I will always be behind, but either way, even if I just put a whole bunch of pictures on a page is better than keeping the pictures in a shoebox for years and years like the rest of my life :) He's already 8 months tomorrow.  Time flies too fast.  Lovin this mom thing..

Mothers Day

Never knew how great being a mom could be.  I pray that someday everyone that wants to be a mom will get to. I believe they will.  I felt so special this day.  It was just so neat seeing Little Coop, and Austin was so sweet.  Love my family so so much.  And I love my two mom's so much.  I'm just the luckiest to have such wonderful people in my life.

Easter Weekend

Hey there.  So here are our Easter Pics (even though once again they aren't in order).  Thanks Nicole for letting me copy some of your collages, because I didn't take any pics when Dax was out playing.  It was a fun weekend, and it reminded us of last year when we told our families that we were going to have a baby.  I'll put this picture just as a reminder:

Now we have our little Cooper and are loving it.
